Our story began in 1990 in the village of Spartia, just a few meters above the stunning Klimatsia beach. In our early years, we specialized in moped and motorcycle rentals. A few years later, we expanded into car rentals, quickly establishing a strong presence, an excellent reputation, and a large, loyal clientele.

The driver must be at least 22 years old on the date of rental for Category A and B cars.
For all other car categories, the minimum age limit is 24 years.
For scooters, there is no age limit, provided that the driver holds the appropriate driving license for 125cc scooters (Category A or A1).
Drivers over the age of 75 are required to purchase Senior Citizen’s Insurance, which currently costs €30 for the entire rental period.
A valid driving license issued at least one (1) year prior to the rental is required.
Driving licenses issued in any European Union member state are accepted.
Driving licenses issued in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, and Gibraltar are also accepted, provided the license documents are written in English (Law 4850/2021).
Driving licenses issued in countries outside the European Union or in countries not mentioned above must be accompanied by a valid International Driving Permit (IDP).
The minimum rental period is one (1) day / 24 hours. Every additional hour is calculated at 1/10th of the daily rate. For delays exceeding 8 hours, a full extra day’s rate will be charged.
Note: A 30-minute grace period is provided free of charge for late returns to the agreed drop-off point. If the grace period passes and the renter has not notified the company at least 30 minutes before the contract expires, a fine of €20 per 30 minutes of delay will apply.
In cases of timely notification and approval by the company, the standard hourly extra charge applies as described above.
For online bookings, the minimum rental duration is three (3) days.
The renter is required to return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel as it had upon pickup.
In the event the vehicle is returned with less fuel, the corresponding difference will be charged. No refunds are provided if the vehicle is returned with more fuel than at the start of the rental.
Any fine or administrative sanction resulting from a violation of the Greek Traffic Code during the rental period is the sole responsibility of the renter.
If you receive a printed ticket on your windshield or are stopped by the police, payment must be made within 10 working days at a Post Office (ELTA) or a bank. You may contact us for further guidance.
If you wish, we can handle the payment process on your behalf. In this case, you must deliver the ticket to us within the 10-day period — ideally upon vehicle return — along with the fine amount and a €20 service fee.
The insurance package includes:
Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)
(Valid only for car rentals, not for scooters/motorcycles)
• Third-Party Liability Insurance
• Roadside Assistance (24 hours a day, 7 days a week)
• Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), with a specific excess amount depending on the vehicle type
• Full Damage Waiver (FDW) with zero excess, available only for specific vehicle types and at an additional cost
• Theft Protection for the rented vehicle
(Coverage applies only to the vehicle and not to the personal belongings of the driver or passengers)
Upon request, Full Insurance with zero excess may be offered for specific vehicle types at an additional charge.
Note: Insurance does not cover, even in the case of zero excess:
• Damages caused while the driver was under the influence of alcohol or substances
• Damages occurring when the vehicle was driven by an unauthorized person
• Damages caused while driving on unpaved/off-road tracks (except for 4×4 vehicles)
• Damages caused during participation in races or illegal acts
• Damage to the interior of the vehicle or the tires
• Damages caused intentionally
• Loss or damage of the vehicle key
• Damages resulting from the use of incorrect fuel type
The company may, on a case-by-case basis, require a security deposit to ensure the renter’s compliance with the rental terms. The relevant amount is determined and disclosed during the booking process, before the rental begins.
The deposit value is set at the company’s discretion and usually does not exceed the insurance excess amount. Factors considered include:
• The driver’s age
• Experience with the specific vehicle type
• Previous rental history
• The vehicle category
In some cases, no security deposit may be required—for example, for regular customers, scooter rentals, older vehicle models, or when the manager deems it unnecessary. However, the excess responsibility in the event of damage still applies, unless a Full Insurance (zero excess) package has been purchased.
The deposit can be paid either in cash or via credit card (pre-authorization hold).
Note:
Cash deposits can be refunded immediately at the end of the rental, while card holds may take several days or even months to be released by the bank.
Indicative Excess Amounts:
• €150 for scooters
• €400 for Category A cars
• €600 for Category B or higher category cars
• €800 for 300cc ATVs
• €1,200 for 450cc ATVs and above
Note: Security deposits for ATVs are significantly lower than their insurance excess amounts.
Damage Clarification:
Before signing the contract, the renter receives a digital file via email or WhatsApp containing photos documenting all pre-existing damage to the vehicle (scratches, dents, etc.). Renters are encouraged to take their own photos or videos before the start of the rental for further documentation. The renter reserves the right to dispute any compensation claim if they provide relevant supporting evidence.
The additional driver is provided free of charge.

The first seat is free of charge. For a second seat or more, the charge is €3 per day.

There is no mileage limit for car rentals.
For ATV and scooter rentals, a mileage limit applies for short-term rentals under 3 days:
• 1 day: first 180 km free
• 2 days: first 250 km free
Every additional kilometer is charged at €0.25.
Delivery and collection are free of charge within a 12 km radius of our base. This free service area includes the Airport, Argostoli Bus Station (KTEL), Pessada Port, and other areas in Leivatho or Lassi.
For longer distances, an additional charge of €3 per extra kilometer applies.
Prior written approval from GSR Rental is required to take the vehicle across national borders.

GSR Rental provides a detailed road map of Kefalonia free of charge.
GSR Rental accepts payments in cash (€) or by credit card (Visa or Mastercard).
Debit cards are accepted only for transactions made at our office or by prior arrangement. The estimated total rental cost is payable at the start of the rental period.
All reservations are made by vehicle category and not for a specific model. GSR Rental reserves the right, in exceptional cases, to replace the model with another of an equivalent category or to provide an upgrade at no extra cost.

Booking Process / Deposit / Cancellation Policy
Online booking requests are made via the contact form in the “Contact” section of our website.
Once you complete all required fields and submit your request, our booking manager will contact you via email within 24 hours with a quote and answers to any questions.

Booking Confirmation:
Your online reservation is considered confirmed only when the company receives a deposit equal to 10% of the total rental cost.
Cancellation Policy:
In the event of cancellation up to 2 weeks before the pickup date, the deposit is refunded. A small amount may be withheld for bank fees or commissions.
The company reserves the right to cancel an online reservation up to 24 hours after the deposit payment, providing a full refund, should an availability issue arise.
In cases of force majeure, if vehicle delivery becomes impossible even after attempts to provide a replacement or alternative solution, the renter is entitled to a full refund of the deposit.
By completing a reservation, the renter declares that they have read and accepted the above terms. The company reserves the right to modify prices or terms and conditions at any time, with relevant notification to the customer.
